Shopping for a KitchenAid Stand Mixer?
Let’s face it – KitchenAid mixers are not cheap.
However, for a couple hundred dollars, this countertop appliance will do just about everything… except bake the cookies for you. You can make homemade dough, whip up frosting, shred chicken & cheese, make pasta, and much more with KitchenAid’s extensive line of standing mixers and attachments.

While they do cost a pretty penny, these small appliances can make your life a whole lot easier in the kitchen, and to many, that convenience is well worth the cost!
But you may be wondering if it is possible to save money on one of these mixers? It is! And we’ll show you how to get the best price with these five tips!
1. Don’t buy the biggest & latest model.
Unless you’re cooking for a family of 10 and plan to use your KitchenAid mixer every single day, you won’t necessarily need the biggest and fanciest model. Many of the smaller models have a lot of the same features, are more affordable, and usually take up less space on your kitchen counters, too!
As an idea, this KitchenAid Artisan Mini tilt-head stand mixer retails for $300, but you can grab one for $199 at Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, and various other retailers – that’s $100 off!
This mini model can make up to five dozen cookies in a single batch, with the same power as the full-sized KitchenAid tilt-head stand mixers, while being 20% smaller and 25% lighter. What’s not to love about that?!
Another affordable and highly rated option is the KitchenAid Classic 4.5-Quart Mixer. This small but mighty 4.5-quart tilt-head stand mixer includes a flat beater, dough hook, whisk attachments and has 10 mixing speeds, so you can easily prepare a variety of recipes. While this model retails for $259.99, it usually goes on sale for under $200.
Hip Tip: If you’re shopping for a KitchenAid mixer at Target, pay with your Target REDCard and get an additional 5% off!
2. Shop Amazon Prime Day sales.
Amazon Prime Day (occurs every July, but could be postponed due to COVID-19) is a great time to shop for just about everything, including KitchenAid mixers! In fact, as part of 2019’s Prime Day sale, we saw this KitchenAid 5-Quart Artisan Series Stand Mixer with Glass Bowl on sale for 48% off, making it only $239.99 shipped (regularly $459.99) – that’s $220 off!
Unfortunately, that KitchenAid deal was only available for 12 hours as a 2019 Amazon Prime exclusive deal, but hopefully we’ll see a similar deal this year, too!

3. Wait for Black Friday sales.
If you miss the Prime Day sales in July, you can also save on KitchenAid mixers from November through January as part of many retailer’s Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and after-Christmas sales.
In fact, we’ve seen sales at Kohl’s, Macy’s, JCPenney, Sam’s Club, and other retailers that have brought the price of a new mixer under $200, after factoring in coupons, store cash, and/or rebates!
Here are a couple Kohl’s KitchenAid Mixer deals we saw during Black Friday 2019:
(Note that these deals below are not currently available)
KitchenAid Classic Plus 4.5-Quart Stand Mixer $199.99 (regularly $259.99)
Final Cost $199.99 + earn $60 Kohl’s Cash!
KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer Model $279.99 (regularly $379.99)
Final Cost $279.99 + earn $75 Kohl’s Cash!
4. Watch for KitchenAid rebates.
Occasionally, KitchenAid offers promotions & rebates on certain mixer models in the form of a check or VISA gift card. While these promotions may not come around often, we do usually see them pop up a couple of times a year.
We’ve also seen various mail-in rebate offers at Kohl’s, QVC, and other retailers! As an idea, here are a few previous KitchenAid mixer mail-in rebates that have been available over the past few years (no longer valid):
- 2016 Kohl’s $50 KitchenAid Mixer rebate
- 2017 KitchenAid $60 Mixer rebate
- 2018 Kohl’s $20-$100 KitchenAid Mixer rebate and $20-$80 rebate
- 2018 QVC $40-$80 KitchenAid Mixer rebate
Hopefully, we’ll see similar rebates pop up very soon!

5. Buy a refurbished model.
On the fence about buying a factory refurbished KitchenAid Mixer? Don’t be as they’re a great way to save you some dough… so you can get in the kitchen and make lots of dough!

Whenever you purchase a refurbished model through KitchenAid, you can rest easy because they include a 6-month limited warranty from the date of purchase (excluding cosmetic damage).
Yes, refurbished mixers have been returned from a consumer, retailer, or trucking company, BUT they have been cleaned and inspected to the original mechanical and electrical condition – so they work just like new!
They also may contain cosmetic blemishes (which are not covered under warranty), but you likely won’t even notice a few scratches or dings while the mixer is sitting on your counter! If you do purchase a refurbished mixer, be sure to keep the dated sales receipt since you may be asked to email, fax, or mail in a copy of the receipt.
